Natalie's latest funny

With mother's day in May, and Father's day following closely in June Natalie naturally asked me while we were shopping for a present for Matt:
"Mommy, when is kid's day?"

Memorial Day

We had a great Memorial Day. We went to the Northport Village Parade in the morning, then to Hoyt Farm. We had a nice family walk there, saw some farm animals, played in the sprinkler park. Then we finished the day off at a BBQ with some friends. The only thing that could have made it better was having more family around. (It's that time of year when I start getting a little homesick for family.)

Matt, Natalie and Amelia at parade. Rebecca and smiley- pie Amelia.

Here comes the parade. This was Natalie's position during the rest of it.

Our friends- Daniel, Elva and Nidia. And friends and hosts of BBQ, the Millers. Yes, that's my very mature husband in the background.

Girls and Bikes

New fun thing to do with our girls...ride bikes. It's more work for us then them, since they are still learning to push the peddles, but they love it.

Amelia. She is becoming quite coy and playful. Watch out boys.

A Tribute to the Whipples

These are some friends of ours that are moving to Utah. Traitors. Rachel is one of the best women I know. I've loved getting to know her and miss her already. Thank goodness for blogs that make it easier to keep up on each other's lives. We had a goodbye party for them and sang karaoke. Good times.

This is just a funny picture. Claire is another Whipple family member. Natalie adores her and Claire was always nice enough to play with her.

Amelia is becoming more photogenic.

Rachel- "old" friend. Sarah in pink, new friend. I love friends.

Planting Fields Arboretum

One of the greatest things about Long Island are the old estates (America's version of Europe's castles) turned into parks, museums, and arboretums. We love to explore and walk around the grounds. We visited this one when my mom was in town in March. What a perfect day.

Like mother like daughter. If you know my mom, she is always very careful in the sun- protecting her face with big hats and sunglasses and yet she'll wear black. As you can see, the apple didn't fall far from the tree for me. I have always kinda wished that we still lived in "hat days"- when women wore fancy or fun hats everywhere. I like hats.

My little country bumpkin daughter. This picture makes me think we should move to the country or at least somewhere where we can have a big piece of land for her to play in and explore all day...just like you see her doing here. Love it.
