Halloween Festivities

The farmer and his cat.

The cheerleader and cat get ready for our church Halloween party.

The princess fairy collects the runner up prize for her White Chili at our Ward Chili Cook Off!  Two free tickets to a BYU football game.  "It's all about song choice, baby."  (As Randy from American Idol would say...and in this case it was all about the chili choice- white instead of the usual red chili.)

Yes- I was proud.  Hey- it's the first time I've ever won anything for my cooking.

Natalie and Amelia on a preschool fieldtrip to a pumpkin patch.

Pumpkins for sale.  I'll take the purple one.

 Our little monkey.
This was at an MBASA halloween party.

Could not get a good picture of them for the life of me.

 The princess and the frog.

 The frog and prince.

While getting out of our car at the library one day, I noticed this pretty little ladybug on a fall leaf.  Magical.

The full view of the cat costume.  The tail is one of Matt's socks.

 Halloween costumes at preschool.

Matt's proud pumpkin creations for the year.

Geared up and ready to go trick or treating.  It was a cold, blustery night!  They made it out just in time.

Kids in kitchen after the storm.

 Rebecca and Sam cooking together.

Sam I Am.  Sam I Am.  We love our little Sam I Am.

 One more, I promise.

A surprise visit from Mr. and Mrs. Pumpkin Head.

Those were my parents.  I laughed my head off.

Off they go.  Funny story.  It was so cold that night and windy.  Matt ventured out alone with the girls so I could keep Sammy home safe and warm.  Well...a sudden storm hit and they got hailed on and stuck under a carport.  Then they escaped to a neighbor's house till I could pick them up.  Luckily they had enough candy to last.

It was a happy halloween!

October Brought Lots of Fun

 Amelia trying out Sam's seat.

We went to dinner at Jenny's after General Conference on Sunday.  Grandpa Walsman gave quarters and dollars to the kids for remember topics and talks from conference to see if they had watched and paid attention.

Samuel and his great grandpa F.M. Henderson (Matt's maternal grandfather).

 My boys.

 My cute son.

 Sam in his cool seat.

Squishy kiss!
Family Hike up Slate Canyon just up the street from where we live.  Sam's first hike.

Natalie with a flower and her hiking stick.

 The girls.

 View from the top.

Brother and sister just hanging out.

Hide-and-go-seek, a favorite in our house.  Amelia is still learning how to hide herself.

Natalie, the perfect size for small places.

Since we first arrived in Utah and the girls started to notice the big "Y" on the mountain above BYU, Natalie begged Matt to take her to hike it.  On a Saturday in October they finally did.

Natalie on the "Y".  She walked the whole way by herself.

 Strike a pose. Vogue.

 There's Provo down there.

The girls love having cousin time.  Here they are on our back porch eating pizza with Josh, Davy, and Pete.

There is a great Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point and we explored it one day with some friends of ours, the Baxters, also in the MBA program at BYU right now but they are second years.

Amelia wanted to just ride this one home.

Matt being attacked and swimming away for his life.

Ahh...to be young and in love.

Dinosaur creation.  Natalie, Amelia with friends Lia and Miriam.

 Sam slept through it all.

Later on he was wide awake at home.  Check out those big blue eyes.  The girlies will swoon someday.
Wait...that's not my house.  Where were we?  Oh- Jenny's again (that is Matt's sister who lives in Lehi.)

Attempting to catch him smiling.

A Day At Cascade Springs

Hiking Girls.  We took a Saturday to explore some fall colors as a family.

 Pretty bridges to walk over.

 Boardwalks to traverse across.

 Mountain views to gaze at.

A friend to enjoy it with.

 Exploration of nature.

Poetic grasses to pass through.  Can grasses be poetic?  Well, I thought this grass path was.

Autumn in Utah

Short Story: One night Matt was playing with Natalie and POP! Something in her arm/elbow/shoulder made us cringe. After many tears and a magical sling it was fine. I've made it.
I'm a magical mommy.

Sam in bed.

Sam cooing.

Father and Son. My boys that I love.

At the end of September, I was able to go to Salt Lake City and hear our General Relief Society Presidency and our Prophet, Thomas S. Monson, speak in the Conference Center. It was an amazing experience for me. I was happy to share it with three of my favorite people- sister in law Jen, sister Tanya and my Mom. That's the Salt Lake City temple in the background.

Matt, Sam and Girls walked around temple square and Salt Lake City having their own fun.

The Reflection Pool.

We joined up with our nephew Josh and his family for Orem's 5k Walk for Juvenile Diabetes. Exercise. Fun. Food. Kids and all. Even Sam participated in his stroller.

Our former New York friends (now Colorado residents) came to visit this fall and to meet our new addition. We love you, Millers!

Little Jake getting some practice with a baby...soon to be a big brother himself.

Our girls could not get enough time outside this Fall. Every day they played out in front with whatever they could find. Favorite past times were stick dueling, splashing in puddles, and playing with neighborhood kids. Oh- and they begged to eat lunch on our front steps every day.

Sleeping in Strange Places

Here's where I found Amelia one day after snack time.

Here's Natalie with Grandpa and Grandma Walsman and little Sam.
