Old Westbury Gardens

This is the first of many new posts to try and catch up for all the pictures I've been saving to put on here, since September. So here they are- the highlights of our life from the past several months.

This post is of a Saturday we took to go walking around Old Westbury Gardens.

You can take walks around the veranda like this when you come. (Is this what you call a veranda?) It sounded right.

Halloween

Natalie helped Matt gut and carve the pumpkin this year. Since both kids got glasses this year, we thought Jack should have them too.

Fall Family Walk

You should know that FALL is my favorite time of year. It could be because I spent a fall in Paris studying abroad during college. It could be because Matt proposed to me in the fall. Good things happen in the fall for me. I love nature and I think nature is at it's finest during this time of year.

My parents came to town. One day we walked around the grounds and house of the summer home of the Vanderbilt family.

Heigh Ho

Matt directed and performed in a show with the youth from our church. It was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. They did the Heigh Ho song. Never knew I married quite the thespian until now. They were the best. Of coarse I'm biased.


The cast. In case you know these kids and in case you can't tell: Elliana Legakis was Grumpy, Alex Hardy was Dopey, Jared Srinivasin was Sleepy, Branndon Claudio was Doc, Matt was Bashful, Jeremy Wendt was Happy, Maggie Rosales (last name right?) was Sneezy, and Colleen Mills was Snow White.

Walk for Diabetes in Manhattan

This year we found out our nephew Josh was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. Manhattan had a walk for diabetes in October and it started at Battery Park, went across the Brooklyn Bridge, and back. About a 10k walk. Matt, I and the girls formed a team with some of Matt's coworkers, and we raised over $500!! Thank you to all our friends and family who donated to helping find a cure for juvenile diabetes. The weather was beautiful, we ran the first half, girls were great and stayed in the stroller sleeping and people watching. Thousands of New Yorkers came to participate. It's something we'll never forget. And Josh- we think you're so brave and we love you!

On Any Given Day

It's hard to tell, but she's eating a piece of hair. She pulls hair from Natalie's head or from her own (now that it's growing longer), and eats/plays with it...all the time. Kinda yucky, no?

Natalie did a month of preschool, then I decided to keep her home with me. We do workbooks and other learning activities together and she loves it. I decided there was no rush to putting her out there in the world. Plus I missed her. So did Amelia.
