Tribute to Our Nephew

I want to pay a little tribute to our nephew, Benjamin.  Sadly, he passed away this week at the age of 7 years old.  His parents are some of the most amazing people I know.  They have loved him, cared for him, and given him a full life.  Benjamin was an angel on earth.  When you held him, you felt close to heaven.  Benjamin was a determined, tough, and sweet little boy.  It's amazing to me that a child, unaware of it, can be an example of strength, endurance, and peace to those around him.  Benjamin has been this for me during our visits with his family.  He has been a blessing to his immediate family, extended family, and really everyone who has known him and held him.  We will miss you Benjamin, but we know we will see you again.  We are thankful for the gospel of Jesus Christ, for the hope of the resurrection and the joy of eternal families.

Here is Benjamin dancing with his father Dan, cousin Natalie, and me at Gabby and Wesley's wedding reception  several years ago.

Natalie and Benjamin hanging out.

Walsman Grandchildren several years ago at Bridal Veil Falls Trail.  Liberty, Benjamin, and Natalie are in the strollers.

This is one of my favorites.  Benjamin and Grandpa Walsman.  Matt used to say Benjamin had the magic touch of helping people relax and fall asleep with him when they were holding him.  :)

A visit to D.C. at the National Arboretum.  A favorite day of mine.  It was so beautiful there with the fall colors.  Benjamin is in the stroller on the left.

The last time we saw Benjamin was at our Walsman Reunion last summer.  This picture was taken on the day of our nephew Porter's baby blessing.  Justin is holding Benjamin on left side of picture.  Here the Walsman Grandkids are with Great Grandpa Henderson and Great Grandma Geneve (except for Natalie who refused to get in the picture).
